The first time is always the hardest

Well, there was I standing on the edge of some farmland looking across an expanse of fields outlined by small hedgerow, a treeline and a few scattered farm cottages.  Though the sky was grey, I realised just how lucky I was to be setting up my easel, my paints and brushes and tackle the blank white of the canvas to try to capture my impression of the view reaching out in to the distance.  It was only when I briefly swapped my brushes for a flask of tea during the six hours that I moved backwards and forwards to my small linen canvas, that I realised I might share this art journey and impart my knowledge and my interest in all things art.  The question was how would I start? Could I make it interesting?  Could I make it reflective of my humour yet thoughtful and enjoyable to read?  Well, I can't promise but I at least I can give it a whirl.

So, I've chosen you, yes you, to join me on my artistic journey,  for fun, frollicking and all things art gently interspersed with thoughts and opinions on other related matters.  I am hopeful that over time this blog will develop, become a leading example of art writing and through much nurturing meet its  needs as it reaches maturity and takes its first step in to the bigger world:)  Hope is a wonderful thing!

Oh and most importantly this will be the first place to see 'whats new on the easel'.
